Gymnocalycium mihanovichii is a species of cactus from South America. The most popular cultivars are varied mutants which completely lack chlorophyll, exposing the red, orange, or yellow pigmentation. Gymnocalycium mihanovichii cv. Daydream is a special cultivar.

Size: approximately 3cm, single head

Caring For Gymnocalycium:

1) Full sun exposure for frequent flowering.

2) Fertilise every week with high Phosphorus and Potassium content for prolific blooming.

3) Gymnocalycium are propagated by pups, seeds or grafting.

4) Water once top inch of the soil turns dry.

5) Repot every 6 months to encourage root growth.

6) Trim the roots before repotting to stimulate further root growth.

7) If grown outdoors, gymnocalycium is susceptible to pest/rodent attacks, use a mesh net to protect it.
